The core attributes are the six primary descriptions of your character. They define your character's physical and mental abilities in terms of stength, speed, and resistance. The six attributes are: Strength, Dexterity, Constitution, Focus, Insight, and Spirit.

The AttributesEdit


Strength measures your physical strength. It determines how much damage you can deal with weapons, as well as improves other strength-based abilities, such as Climbing and Jumping. More strength determines how much you can carry and equip at a time.

Strength determines:

  • Attack Rating
  • How much you can carry
  • Jumping Ability
  • Climbing Ability

You can also roll Strength to use a feat of strength on someone or an object, like breaking down a door or carrying someone.


Dexterity measures your physical speed and agility. It determines how quickly you can run, how fast you can attack and dodge, as well ass other abilities, such as Tumble and Balance.

Dexterity determines:

  • Speed
  • Reflex Save
  • Balance
  • Tumble
  • Use Rope


Constitution measures your physical resiliance. It determines how well you can resist damage and disease, as well as improves your total health points.

Consitution determines:

  • Health Points
  • Damage Reduction
  • Fortitude Save


Focus measures your mental strength, how strong willed your character is. It determines how strong the magic you cast is, as well as how well you can concentrate on tasks, such as Channeling energy or Autohypnosis.

Focus determines:

  • Magic Rating
  • Spellcraft (recognizing magic)
  • Autohypnosis
  • Channel


Insight measures mental quickness, how fast you react mentally to events. It determines social abilities, as well as how well you notice things around you.

Insight determines:

  • Initiative
  • Convince
  • Bluff
  • Sense Motive
  • Intuit Direction
  • Intimidate
  • Spot
  • Search
  • Listen


Spirit measures your mental resiliance. It determines how well you can resist harmful magic, as well as your magical capacity.

Spirit determines:

  • Total raw energy
  • Will Save
  • Concentration
  • Meditate


Leveling up a Core Attribute requires experience points equal to the sum of all levels you have in it already. For example, to raise your Strength from 4 to 5, it costs 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 experience points. For those of you who like math, for leveling up to level n from level n-1, it takes n(n-1)/2 experience points.
